NY --The Two Of Us Productions, the award winning theater company based in
Columbia County NY, is pleased to present LEND
ME A TENOR by Kenneth Ludwig,
May 18th through May 27th, 2017 at The Theater at The
Grange in Copake NY.
tenor Tito Merelli has signed on to
play Otello for the Cleveland Opera
Guild. He arrives late to his hotel and, through a set of crazy circumstances,
passes out on his bed after mixing wine with a large dose of tranquilizers.
Believing that the comatose opera star is dead, the excitable opera manager Henry
Saunders convinces his hapless
assistant, an aspiring singer named Max,
to suit up in an Otello costume & replace Merelli at tonight’s gala
performance. Meanwhile, Merelli’s jealous
wife Maria, his ambitious female
co-star Diana, Max’s young girlfriend
Maggie, the flirtatious head of the
opera guild Julia Leverett, and even
the hotel’s singing bellhop are on
the scene fighting—sometimes literally—for the opera star’s attention.

stage favorites and some talented new faces.
Tito & Maria Merelli are
played by Mark Leinung & Constance Lopez.
The role of Henry Saunders is
played by Frank Leavitt, and his daughter Maggie
is played by Karissa Payton. Max,
the all-round assistant &
aspiring opera singer is played by Hunter Anderson. Cyndi Miller plays the ambitious
soprano Diana, Diane Boice-Yorck
plays opera guild head Julia Leverett,
and Josh Gurwitz plays the hotel’s operatic
The Two of Us Productions is well known throughout
Hudson Valley for presenting quality theater, both musicals and dramas. Their
recent productions of Young Frankenstein, Chicago, Les Miserables,
next to normal and Jesus Christ
Superstar were all recognized by the Theatre Association of NYS with
multiple awards, including outstanding
work by the company & outstanding
performance by the orchestra. This
