Here's what our audience has to say about RAGTIME:

"The Two Of Us Productions is a gutsy little-big theater company."  "Their RAGTIME embraces history, race, music, and hard personal choices. It evokes feelings of national pride and anger that you may have thought you had outgrown.  These feelings are worth digging up." -- Marion Hunter, The Columbia Paper

"A dazzling production of RAGTIME ... The upbeat Ragtime music (is) played to the nines by the vibrant 26 piece orchestra under Stephen Sanborn ... The choreography of Constance Lopez carried superb flow ...  The sets were simple and just right ... wonderful lighting that sometimes seemed a trick of Houdini."   --  John Paul Keeler, The Register-Star

On Saturday evening I went off to see RAGTIME. It is a wonderful production and made me want to read the book again  ....  I highly recommend it.

"What an amazing show!  Bravo!"

" Your Daddy's Son ... sung by Jacqueline Salvatore in a caressing vocal sound, a lullaby for the infant in her arms.  Constance Lopez as Mother sang her songs with fine style bringing a superb contrast in Goodbye My Love  and What Kind Of Woman .. James Jollie brought fine acting to the part of Tateh .... Louise Pillai's declamation as Emma Goldman ...  could surely be heard at Catskill Point"  --  John Paul Keeler, The Register-Star

The whole show was wonderful! Oh my gosh, what talent, it was incredible! I took my parents and we all had such a wonderful time..the show was impressive with the sets (the projections and the side things the actors climbed on...your Model T was fantastic!!) What a professional production..oh, it was just wonderful!  BRAVO!

"The historical period is vivid.  (Evelyn) Nesbit is nicely played by a saucy Tara K. Young, Louise Pillai is a slim and rousing Emma Goldman.  There are a number of attractive voices in this cast ... especially .. Paul Carter as Coalhouse Walker and Constance Lopez as Mother" ... "Carter emphasizing (Coalhouse's) warmth, conflict and rage"  ... Lopez ... "creates a woman who is intensely feminine and empathetic but well equipped with a clear head and a solid backbone." -- Marion Hunter, The Columbia Paper

“… The people called it RAGTIME!”

The final performances of The Two Of Us Productions’ RAGTIME, The Musical are coming up this weekend.  This is one show you don’t want to miss!  RAGTIME features performers and musicians from throughout the Hudson Valley, including Hudson, Catskill, Chatham, Poughkeepsie, Valatie, Albany, Troy and nearby Berkshire County.  RAGTIME’s moving score by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty makes use of the music of the era to create a soaring symphonic counterpart to the gripping drama.

The Two of Us Productions is well known throughout the Hudson Valley for presenting quality theater, both musicals and dramas.  One of their trademarks is presenting musicals with full orchestras, a rarity that is a great treat for their audiences.  Accompanying the cast of 34 talented actors, Director and Conductor Stephen Sanborn has assembled 26 of the area’s most experienced musicians to thrill the audience with the full sound of this award winning musical.

RAGTIME, the award winning musical drama by Terrence McNally with music by Stephen Flaherty & lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, is being presented in the newly renovated Hudson High School auditorium.  You don’t want to miss this gripping tale of the American experience.  Romance, patriotism, the fight for the dignity of every citizen, the hope of new immigrants are all told through the dramatic script and soaring music of RAGTIME!

The intriguing story line of RAGTIME is a dramatic tale on the coming of age of 1900’s America told through three parallel story lines: Father, Mother and the People of New Rochelle who are proud of their country; Coalhouse Walker Jr. and the People of Harlem, pushing to claim their place in society and the simple dignity of equality; and, the Eastern European Immigrants, Tateh, his little daughter, and the hopeful immigrants flooding through Ellis Island to a better life.  Celebrities of the time help to tell the tale, Henry Ford, Evelyn Nesbit, Harry Houdini, Emma Goldman, Stanford White, all play a role in the telling of this touching story.  .

RAGTIME is being presented at the auditorium of Hudson High School Hudson NY.  The final performances are coming up this weekend on October 28th, 29th, and 30th.  Friday and Saturday performances are at 8pm and the Sunday matinee is at 3pm.  Tickets are $18 for adults, $14 for students & seniors, and $12 for groups & families.  For advance reservations visit www.TheTwoOfUsProductions.org or call 1-866-811-4111 or 518-758-1648.  Make your reservations early to make sure you get a good seat!
