Is Anyone “Beyond Therapy”?

The Two Of Us Productions, a local theater company based in Copake NY, is bringing BEYOND THERAPY, a zany comedy by Tony Award nominee Christopher Durang to the Hudson stage.  If you’d like an inexpensive therapy session, this show is for you.

The Two of Us Productions is well known throughout the Hudson Valley for presenting quality theater, both musicals and dramas.  One of their trademarks is presenting musicals with full orchestras, a rarity that is a great treat for their audiences.  They have performed at a variety of venues throughout the area including: Cabaret at the Hudson River Theater in Hudson, NY; Ragtime at the Taconic Hills Performing Arts Center; Chicago at the BCC Koussevitsky Theater in Pittsfield, MA; Arthur Miller’s Broken Glass at the Valatie Community Theatre; The Owl and the Pussycat at the Cuneen-Hackett Theater in Poughkeepsie, NY; They’re Playing Our Song at Rhinebeck Performing Arts Center; and, their upcoming Fall 2010 production of Jesus Christ, Superstar at the Hudson High School in Hudson, NY.

Bruce and Prudence are deeply in therapy.  Prudence’s macho therapist is urging her to be more assertive while Bruce’s wacky female therapist wants him to meet women by placing a personal ad.  She does not fully comprehend that Bruce has a male lover who is not pleased by Bruce’s desire to date a woman, Prudence.  Bruce doesn’t know how to handle the poor nervous Prudence and Prudence doesn’t know what to make of her unpredictable new boyfriend.  The do learn to live beyond therapy in this delightful Off-Broadway hit that moved successfully to Broadway.
